In 1998 Dr Tom and Mrs Nigel Bligh commissioned us to design them a 14m cruising catamaran. We did so, and Multimarine were commissioned to build it. At the time Tom (a direct descendent of the infamous Captain Bligh) was Head of Engineering at Cambridge University, and wanted to be involved in the design and fabrication of several of the components of the boat (we find it very flattering that several of our customers have come from an engineering background). Both Tom and Nigel continued to be very involved throughout the build of Lady Bounty, taking full advantage of Multimarine's open access policy, and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience.
