A note on classifications - you will notice that some of our cruisers are also racers. These are built for comfort but are still fast enough to be serious contenders on the racing circuit.

Dazcat 8R

An open deck racing catamaran first built in 1989, it is fast and fun to sail. It has won its class in both single and two-handed transatlantic races, as well as many other races, and has proven itself reliable and safe during a long cruise around eastern Europe.

A racing trimaran first built in 1990; it is extremely fun but has minimal accommodation. All you need to win races. Darren has been interviewed about this design by the Small Trimarans website.

A racing trimaran first built in 1997 for winning races, it is an extremely fast boat, ideal for racing shorthanded offshore. Has been very successful as you can see in News and Stories. A cruising catamaran designed by Darren Newton for himself, the first one was subsequently sold on and launched in 2006. It offers very spacious accommodation while retaining exceptional performance.

As of the beginning of 2009 she is for sale to the discerning purchaser.

A 10m sailing catamaran designed with the whole family in mind. Developed from the 1040 design and launched at the London Boat Show 2006, this is the perfect vessel for cruising with family and friends. Very roomy accommodation for its size, with berths for 5-8.

Part of the new DazPowerCat range at the bottom of the page. The first of these 15m power catamarans was built for a chap in a wheelchair and his wife for cruising in the Med. Building began in June 2007 and the launch took place in October 08. Watch a video here. Their boat features electric lifts and boarding ramps, and adjustable helm seats.
