D1395 UNDER CONSTRUCTION

SOUTHAMPTON BOAT SHOW 2010 AND BEYOND

We had two catamarans available for test sailing; cruisy racer D1150 Drama Queen and racy cruiser D1195 Sueños sailed every day of the show until the 18th, when they competed in the MOCRA Bembridge Regatta. If you visited Stand E013 you could also get your limited edition (ie, free) DVD of the Shetland Round Britain and Ireland Race. MILLBROOK MULTIHULL WEEKEND

July 16th-18th 2010 we held the first Millbrook Multihull Festival - a celebration of all things multihull - with racing, cruising, a raft up, a parade of sail, barbecues and music. SHETLAND ROUND BRITAIN AND IRELAND RACE 2010

The preparations for this, and the race itself, generated enough news that we set up a special section on the site - or you can read the combined reports here. Full results here. Pictures from the start here, and from the finish!

The prize-giving took place on 23rd October. Will Claxton and Matt Gill took home three trophies for their performance on Paradox: the Lerwick Port Award for 1st round Muckle Flugga; the Butterfield Trophy for 1st multihull on corrected time; and the Boxall Trophy for multihulls on MOCRA rating. Simon, Dan and Drama Queen won 2nd place in the Boxall category. Full results on the RWYC website.

 

 
                     

D1195 KIT CAT LAUNCHED

Dazcat 10RT Paradox, sold on after a disastrous collision at the start of the 07 race, has completed the course, the only multihull to do so. Well done to Will and Matt for effecting such a good restoration, and for staying the course. If we get pictures we'll post em

DAZCAT 1150 DRAMA QUEEN WINS FIRST RACE

Drama Queen came 1st in the MOCRA class on her maiden race, the Royal Western Yacht Club's Plymouth-Falmouth-Fowey, held over the May Bank Holiday weekend, achieving two firsts and one second in the three legs. Click on the link to read the race report

           
         

DAZCAT 1150 LAUNCHED

The first 1150 came out of its shed on a capricious spring day and was officially launched on the 28th March. She will be racing in a matter of weeks, doing the Plymouth-Fal-Fowey and Round the Isle of Wight in preparation for the Round Britain next year. There she was in a field near the airport at Split when who should drive by but Multimarine's Simon Baker. He used to own her so stopped to take some pictures.
