SOUTHAMPTON BOAT SHOW 2005

News Report

Dazcat had a successful show this year with one boat sale, a boat resale, an agreed sale of a new 12m and further discussions on the future of our new go anywhere cat, the Discovery 1040. After much debate this is now undergoing a redesign, which will make it the Discovery 10.2 Voyager; drawings of the new versions will be available to view on site so come back soon.

Sold! Dazcat 10

It is always very gratifying to sell a boat, but we are particularly proud of this one, as it is to James Jermain, boat review writer for Yachting Monthly. He has been a fan of the 10 metre since he first reviewed it back in June 2003 for YM, and has now agreed a deal with Mike and Carol Sills to buy their 10m Belladonna (which just goes to show how good Dazcat resale value is ...). Which brings us to our next news …

Left: Belladonna racing her sister Bedazzled;above: stern on under stormy skies; below: powering along under spinnaker. The 10m is our best seller, perfectly suited for cruising but also a nifty racer, as Tony Cotton found in the RBR

  Sold! Dazcat 1190

This almost completed racer/cruiser cat has now been sold, to Mike and Carol Sills! They were looking for something a little bigger, as with Mike’s imminent retirement they will be able to spend more time aboard and will have more time and scope for cruising. Work on completing the boat will start soon, with launch scheduled for next spring. This is another particularly gratifying sale, as Mike and Carol were one of our first customers and we are very proud that they want to stick with us. Also, as this was originally going to be Daz’s boat, it is nice to know it will be going to a good home.
Left: this doesn't really do its sexy, slinky shape justice but you get some idea; above: shiny sink in galley, with view through to starboard stern berth; below: standing in the galley looking across the saloon towards the built in nav position
